Why put your server in London

London is a major connectivity hub. Hosting there shortens the path to UK and EU users, keeps your data in local jurisdiction and makes routing predictable.

Glasgow Manchester Bristol Dublin Amsterdam Frankfurt Paris LONDON REACH UK consumer ISPs Ireland Mainland Europe One hop from the exchange
A London point of presence sits one short hop from the UK's busiest peering fabric, which is what keeps routes to consumer ISPs and mainland Europe short.

Lower latency for UK traffic

Shorter network paths mean faster page loads, better game responsiveness and smoother streams than overseas locations.

Better peering

London is a major exchange point, which helps deliver stable routes to consumer ISPs, gaming networks and cloud platforms.

Data residency

Hosting in the UK helps meet compliance requirements where data has to stay inside local jurisdictions.

Predictable performance

You know exactly where the hardware sits and how it is connected, instead of guessing at a cloud region.

Hardware you can name

Every plan lists the exact CPU, memory and NVMe layout, so you can benchmark against it before you commit.

Dual stack ready

Dedicated IPv4 with IPv6 available, plus VLANs and private networking between multiple London servers.

London routing on a private fibre backbone

London is one of the densest interconnection points in the world. Sitting on it shortens the path to UK and EU users, and our own fibre runs keep that path predictable.

Racked in a UK data centre

Your London dedicated server is a physical machine in a UK facility with redundant power, cooling and network paths, not a slice of a shared cloud region.

  • Data residency

Hosting in the UK helps meet compliance requirements where data has to stay inside local jurisdictions.

  • Hardware we own

The machines are ours, so RAM, NVMe layouts, network cards and VLANs can be changed for you rather than refused.

Dedicated server London guide

When to use a London dedicated server, how to choose a configuration, and how to migrate from your current host.

A London dedicated server is a full physical machine in a UK data centre, reserved entirely for you. Unlike shared hosting or cloud instances, you are not sharing CPU, memory or disks with other customers, so resources are predictable and you control the operating system outright.

It is worth considering if any of the following apply:

  • You have a UK or EU audience and want the lower latency that London routing gives.
  • Your workloads have outgrown shared hosting or small VPS plans.
  • You run game servers, e-commerce, APIs or SaaS platforms that need consistent performance.
  • You want more control over security, networking and resource allocation than cloud platforms give by default.

CPU. Game servers, PHP sites, panel applications and databases such as MySQL benefit from high single core performance. The Ryzen 7600X, 7900X, 9800X3D and 9950X all give strong per-core throughput for responsive workloads.

Memory. Choose 64GB if you plan to run a few heavier services or moderate virtualisation. Move to 128GB if you expect multiple virtual machines, large caches or busier sites. Memory decides how much you can safely consolidate onto one node.

Storage. All plans here use NVMe Gen4 SSDs. 1TB suits smaller fleets or limited datasets. 2TB is the better choice when you plan to host more maps, larger databases or multiple client sites.

Port speed. Every plan includes at least a 1 Gbps port that can be upgraded to 10 Gbps for busier sites, CDNs, proxies or game fleets. For CPU-bound workloads 1 Gbps is usually enough. Streaming and large file distribution want more.

Moving is straightforward if you plan it properly. A typical migration runs in three stages.

  1. Prepare the new server. Install your preferred operating system, harden SSH, set up a firewall and install the services you need such as Nginx, PHP, MySQL or Docker.
  2. Sync your data. Use rsync or SFTP to copy web files and application code, dump and restore your databases, then sync uploads, media and user-generated content.
  3. Test and cut over. Add a hosts file entry on your own machine so you can test the London server against live domain names before touching DNS. Check SSL, caching, rewrite rules and performance, then switch DNS with short TTLs.

Our team can advise on the best approach for your stack. If you would rather compare other UK options first, see UK dedicated servers or UK VPS hosting.

Dedicated server London FAQs

There are several London providers offering dedicated servers. Our focus is high frequency AMD Ryzen hardware with DDR5 and NVMe Gen4 storage, on a UK-focused network with 24/7 support. If you care about performance per pound for web, game hosting or SaaS, a modern Ryzen server such as our 7900X, 9800X3D or 9950X in a UK data centre is usually a better fit than older Xeon options.

Pricing starts at £100 per month for a Ryzen 7600X with 64GB DDR5 and NVMe storage, with larger options up to a Ryzen 9950X with 128GB DDR5. All plans include a 1 Gbps port as standard, NVMe storage and no setup fee.

For gaming you want high single core performance, low latency and enough memory for your player counts. In our line-up the Ryzen 7950X3D and 9800X3D suit this best because of their cache layouts and boost clocks. Pair one with 64GB or 128GB DDR5 and NVMe Gen4 for map loads, host it in London for low ping to UK and many European ISPs, and enable DDoS protection at the network edge.

All of our London dedicated servers ship with a 1 Gbps port as standard and can be upgraded to 10 Gbps for heavier workloads such as streaming, file distribution or large game fleets. If you need specific monthly transfer allowances or commit levels, speak to sales and we can size a plan around your usage.

Lighter workloads and single projects suit the 6 and 8 core CPUs such as the Ryzen 7600X, 9600X and 9700X with 64GB RAM. For multiple game servers, VPS nodes or busy sites, the 12 and 16 core options such as the 7900X, 9900X and 9950X with 128GB RAM give more headroom. Every plan includes NVMe Gen4 storage, so the real difference is core count and memory size.

Yes. Every dedicated server in London sits behind network level DDoS protection, which absorbs and filters common attack types so your services stay reachable as long as the origin server itself is healthy. For game hosting we can apply protocol-specific filters to keep latency and packet loss low during mitigation.

We provide migration guidance at no additional cost. For most stacks the process is to provision your new London server, copy files and databases across, test using hosts file entries and then switch DNS. If you are moving from shared hosting or a single VPS, we can set out the exact steps and help plan a short maintenance window.

Our dedicated servers are self managed by default, with full root access and control. If you need managed support, monitoring or patching, we can discuss a managed add-on or refer you to trusted partners, while you keep the London location and hardware specification you want.

Yes. IPv4 is included as standard and IPv6 can be provided so you can run dual stack deployments. You have full control over firewall rules at the server level, and can request VLANs or private networking between multiple London servers.

Yes. The listed plans cover our standard configurations, but we can adjust RAM, NVMe capacity and layouts, or network cards, for projects that need something specific. Contact sales with your requirements and we will see what is possible in London within your budget.

You can test latency from your ISP or game client using ping and traceroute against test IPs we provide. This gives a realistic picture of how your UK and EU users will reach the London network. For game hosting we recommend testing at peak times. Contact support and we will share the correct test IPs and ports.
