Custom-built dedicated servers
Build your own dedicated server,
component by component
Assembled, overclocked and burnt in by hand before it is racked in our UK data centre.
Off-the-shelf servers are built for averages. Tell us the CPU, cooling, memory, storage and chassis you want, and we build the machine around the workload instead of around a price list.
Decide what matters, then choose the parts
A custom build is a set of trade-offs. Work through these six decisions and the specification writes itself. If you are not sure, describe the workload and we will recommend a layout.
We buy the components for your build
Nothing is pulled from a pile of spares. Once the specification is agreed the parts are ordered for your machine, then assembled, tuned and tested by the same engineers who will support it.
-
Chosen against the workload High clocks for game ticks and PHP, core count for encoding and virtualisation. We size the CPU to the job rather than the budget tier.
-
Cooled for the clocks you asked for Dynatron 2U to 4U AIO watercoolers, with airflow planned around the parts in the chassis rather than a generic layout.
-
Signed off before it ships Every specification is agreed with you in writing before a single part is ordered, so there are no substitutions on arrival.
1. Processor and clocks
Game ticks, PHP and database queries reward high single-core speed. Batch jobs, encoding and virtualisation reward core count. We support all-core overclocks up to 6GHz where the workload justifies it.
2. Cooling
Cooling sets the clocks you can actually hold. We fit Dynatron 2U to 4U AIO watercoolers so boost speeds stay steady under sustained load rather than dropping back under heat.
3. Memory
Memory decides how much you can consolidate onto one machine. ECC modules are available where data integrity matters more than headline speed, such as databases and virtualisation hosts.
4. Storage and RAID
Choose Gen 4 or Gen 5 NVMe for map loads and database throughput, and a RAID layout across NVMe or SATA drives. We configure the array before handover.
5. Chassis and power
2U to 4U chassis options with high-efficiency power supplies tuned for stability under overclock, and airflow managed for the parts you have chosen rather than a generic layout.
6. Operating system
Any Linux distribution or Windows build, preinstalled and configured before you get the login. Full root or Administrator access with no restrictions.
From specification to racked server
Custom builds take up to 14 days. The first week is sourcing and assembly, the second is testing. Nothing is handed over until it has held its clocks under load.
-
Step 01
Specify the hardware
Send us a parts list, or tell us the workload, the performance you need and the budget. We help you design the setup around performance, budget and thermals.
-
Step 02
We source and build
Parts are ordered and the system is assembled by hand by our own engineers, then overclocked and thermally tuned rather than left on stock settings.
-
Step 03
One week of burn-in
The machine is stress-tested for a full week under load to confirm thermals, overclock stability and that no part is marginal. Anything that fails is replaced before delivery.
-
Step 04
Deploy or ship
We rack it in our UK Tier 2 equivalent data centre behind EdgeProt and hand you the login. If you would rather host it elsewhere, we can ship it or arrange colocation.
When bespoke hardware pays for itself
A custom build is worth the wait when a stock configuration would leave you paying for parts you do not need, or short of the one thing you do.
Racked behind 30 Tbps of EdgeProt
However exotic the build, it lands on the same anycast edge as everything else we host, with filtering written for game and application traffic.

Our own UK facility
Our UK Tier 2 equivalent data centre
We own the building, the racks and the power feeding them, which is why we can rack an overclocked watercooled machine at all. Most facilities will not take one.
-
Built for sustained load
Redundant power, precision cooling and airflow managed for the parts you chose rather than a generic layout.
-
Engineers on site
The people who built the machine are the people with physical access to it, so faults get hands-on attention in minutes.
-
Ship it instead
You can also have the finished server delivered to your address or colocated elsewhere.
What comes with a custom server
Tell us what you want to run
Send us a spec, or a description of the workload and a budget, and we will design the build with you before a single part is ordered.
Custom-built dedicated server FAQ
You choose the hardware, covering CPU, memory, NVMe, cooling and chassis, and we build it by hand. Each server is assembled, overclocked and stress-tested before it is deployed.
Custom builds take up to 14 days. The first week covers sourcing parts and building your server, and the second week is testing under load for thermal stability and overclock safety.
Yes. We offer all-core overclocks up to 6GHz and support Dynatron AIOs or other cooling options. Tell us the thermal envelope or performance target you have in mind.
Yes. We can preinstall any Linux or Windows operating system and configure RAID across your NVMe or SATA drives. We agree all of this with you before the build starts.
Yes. You get full root on Linux or Administrator on Windows, with no restrictions. It is your hardware and your environment.
Your server is deployed in our own data centre in the United Kingdom, which we own and operate rather than rent. You can also have it shipped to a different location or colocated elsewhere.
Yes. Every custom-built server is protected by our 30 Tbps+ EdgeProt DDoS mitigation platform, built to handle complex gaming and application-layer attacks.
You get 24/7 support by ticket and Discord from our UK-based team. High-spend clients also get access to emergency phone support for mission-critical issues.
